RE: END OF TERM II, 2019 CIRCULAR LETTER.

  1. Greetings to you from the Board of Governors, PTA Executive and Staff. Thank you for the support which you rendered to the school this term.
  2. The school has closed for Term II, holidays today, Wednesday, 31st August, 2016 and will re-open for Term III on Saturday, 24th September, 2016.
    1. The school programmes will start exactly on Monday, 26th September, 2016.
  3. Academics: All academic programmes for Term II have been accomplished.
    1. Your sons have been issued with Report Cards showing results for Progressive Examinations.
    2. The candidate (S.4 & s.6s) and non-candidate classes sat for Mock and End of Term Examinations, which ended on Tuesday, 30th August, 2016. The results will be ready at the beginning of Term III, 2016.
    3. The UCE Examinations are scheduled to start on 14th October, 2016, just three weeks after the official opening of the term. Please, get more information from your son on this matter.
  4. Co-curricular Activities: The students are actively involved in Co-curricular activities.
    1. Music Dance and Drama (MDD): The school emerged the best in the Teso-Karamoja Region and proceeded for the National Competitions held in Mbale this month. We were ranked 33rd out of about 60 schools that participated.
    2. Debating: We participated in the Teso Regional Competition and emerged the second best overall.
    3. Cricket: The school team qualified to represent the Region in the National Tournament to be held in Lugogo, Kampala starting on 2nd September, 2016.
    4. Scouts: Our scout team emerged the best in the region and will proceed for National Competitions at Kaazi, Entebbe starting on 2nd September, 2016.
    5. The Interact Club visited St Katherine Secondary School, Lira to promote tree planting activities.
    6. The YCS Club went for Pilgrimage to Namugongo, Catholic and Church of Uganda Shrines. The members also visited Uganda Martyrs S.S. Namugongo.
    7. The School Water and Sanitation Club represented Teso Region in Debating and other activities organized by National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Kampala.
    8. Children Caring for Cancer (3Cs): The 3Cs Club was launched in the school. The aim is to involve the students in sensitizing the communities around them on issues concerning cancer.
    9. The Scripture Union Club went out to clean Soroti Regional Referral Hospital and mobilized some resources to buy items such as sugar, soap, tooth paste and others to distribute to patients. Drying lines were erected for the children’s wards
